Albatross D.VI

The Albatros D.VI is a German experimental hunter of the First World War.

Curiously retrogresses, this single-seat biplane hunter took again the formula of the beams carries empennage framing a pusher airscrew. Built in 1917, the prototype took the air in February 1918, but its landing gear was damaged at the conclusion of the first vol. It had not been repaired in May when the program was given up and the engine recovered for another use. It is thus not very probable that this prototype received the armament envisaged, consistent in a Becker gun of 20 mm and a machine-gun LMG 08/15 of 7,92 mm fixed drawing both forwards. It is probably the presence of this gun which had dictated the configuration of the plane.
