Albain mount

The Mont Albain (in Latin Albanus Mons , today Assembles-Cavo ) is a whole of hills of the Latium to the foot of which Alba-the-Long extended. It culminates with 990 meters height.

These hills are of origin volcanic and constitute the remainders of a Stratovolcan. A series of explosions has creates different Caldeira S and Maar S such as the Lac from Albano.

The Consul S of Rome were going each year to offer a sacrifice to it to Jupiter Latiaris in the name of the 30 cities of the Latin confederation. Sometimes the generals who had not been able to obtain the triumph in Rome came to triumph over the Albain mount.
