Alan Parsons

Alan Parsons was born on December 20th, 1948 with London, in England. It enters to EMI as a sound engineer and quickly will become to the recording artists to the studios of Abbey Road. It thus will work in collaboration with the Beatles on many titles, of which Let It Be or their famous concert on the roof of the studios. Its notoriety from now on being ensured in the musical medium, it will work with Al Stewart, George Harrison or Paul McCartney. But it is with Pink Floyd that it ensured its reputation in the musical medium. He will have worked with them on many albums, of which the universally known Dark Side off the Moon , or Atom Heart Mother .

The foundation of The Alan Parsons Project

Founder of the group in 1976 with Eric Woolfson, its first album is Tales off Mystery and Imagination , homage to the writer Edgar Allan Poe. Its second album is him also inspired by the literature since it is about I, Robot , drawn from the book of the same name of Isaac Asimov. Thereafter, success will not stop. It leaves Pyramid in 1978, success which will enable him to record Eve in Monaco. There low, it will record The Turn off has Friendly Card . It is in 1982 that Eye in the Sky will leave, its greater success, which still passes on the waves at present. Then will come Ammonia Avenue , of which is drawn another from its larger morceau : Don' T Answer Me in 1984, Vulture Culture in 1985, Stereotomy in 1986 and Gaudi in 1987. He also collaborated very actively in another album : Freudiana (1990) making of this last an extension of its discography. Alan Parsons worked on the original soundtrack of the film Lady Hawke surrounded by her leader attitré : Andrew Powell.

It will collaborate in other albums and gives up the name of “The Alan Parsons Project” for that of Alan Parsons. In 1994, it leaves Try Anything Once then One Air which will leave in two versions (SACD and CD more cédérom no-claims bonus) and finally The Time machine in 1999, to which takes part inter alia Tony Hadley, the " voix" of Spandau Ballet. Its last album, has Valid Path , accommodates many guests of which the famous David Gilmour (guitarist of Pink Floyd).

Alan Parsons also recorded an album entitled Keats in the Eighties. Remaining like a new album.

Alan Parsons will be 60 years old in 2008. It is now one of the largest sound engineers, working with last technologies, of which the multitrack format 5.1. He currently lives with Santa Barbara (California) with his family.

In 2004, Parsons gathered several of his/her usual collaborators to create the album has Valid Path , of techno-pop invoice. One finds there remakes of Mammagamma (in an original manner on Eye in the Sky ) and of Dream Within has Dream/The Raven (in an original manner on Tales off Mystery and Imagination )
