Alan Milburn
Alan Milburn is a British Politician , member of the Workers party, born the January 27th 1958 in Tow Low, in the county of Durham (North-eastern of the England).
After having left the university, it makes its first weapons with the Workers party in 1988, while becoming secretary of district in the district Newcastle upon the Tyne Central .
With the general elections of 1992, it is invested by the Labor with Darlington and gains the seat of deputy.
The December 23rd 1998, after the resignation of Peter Mandelson, it makes its entry in the cabinet of Tony Blair, at the post of chief secretary to the Treasury, under the authority of the chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown.
Into October 1999, it changes wallet and becomes Secretary of State to Health, functions in which it remains until the June 12th 2003, date on which it resigns for personal reasons.
It makes however its return to the government in September 2004, with the title of chancellor of the duchy of Lancaster , station without particular responsibility. In 2005, the emergence of Gordon Brown in the forefront at the time of the electoral campaign leads it to require of Tony Blair not to renew it in its functions during the composition of the new government.
The February 28th 2007, with the former minister Charles Clarke, it launches the Web site in The 2020 Vision , which intends to discuss of the policy of the Workers party from the point of view of the departure, announced for the summer, of Tony Blair of the 10, Downing Street.
It is defended however, for the moment, to plan to contribute for the leadership of the party (and, consequently, for the post of Prime Minister) or to want to weaken the position of Gordon Brown, with which its disagreement is notorious, whereas it irremovable chancellor of the Exchequer is seen per many members of the Labor Party like the successor naturalness of Tony Blair.
