Biography
Alan Bean received a diploma of the Paschal High School of Fort Worth (Texas); it receipt also a " bachelor off science degree" in aeronautical engineering of the University from Texas in Austin in 1955.It followed then formation a four years as a pilot of combat and a test pilot in the navy where its instructor was his future ordering mission Apollo 12: Pete Conrad .
It to him was allotted an honorary doctorate of science of the Texas Wesleyan College in 1972 and it received an honorary doctorate of engineerings of the Université of Akron (Ohio) in 1974.
Flights carried out
- November 14th 1969: he is the pilot of the lunar module of Apollo 12, becoming the 4th man to be gone on the Moon
- July 28th 1973: he is the commander of the mission Skylab 3, establishing a new record of duration of flight for the time, with more than 59 days in orbit, as well as the record of cumulated duration of flight (more than 69 days).
