Sony Corporation (Japanese: ソニー株式会社) is a Japanese Entreprise universally represented, in particular in the fields of the Musique, of the electronic , the Téléphonie, the Informatique, the Cinéma and the audio-visual one. The company, or its firms are commonly selected Sony .

Origin
The company was created on May 7th 1946 by Masaru Ibuka, Engineer, and Akio Morita, physicist, engaging a score of people in a company which repaired electronics components and which tried to create its clean produits.The name, Sony, come from the Latin sonus which means its , and of the expression English E then sails about it in Japan Sunny servant boy which designates an young graduate with a free spirit and innovator.

The current president, since the March 7th 2005, is the English Sir Howard Stringer following the resignation of Nobuyuki Idei. The head office is with Tōkyō with the Japan.The sales turnover for the whole of the companies and subsidiary of Sony Corporation throughout the world in 2004 rises with nearly 69 billion euros. The company counts 158.500 paid in the world with the March 31st 2006.
The share of Sony in the worldwide market of consumer electronics was estimated in 2004 at more than 14% (in front of Matsushita, Hitachi and Philips).
