Alain Marguerettaz

Alain Marguerettaz , born the August 31st 1962, is a handicapped sportsman French, practitioner the discipline of the ski sitting in Ski touring.

Paraplegic since 1985 following an accident, he immediately refuses his handicap to become a champion. Disputing marathons in armchair first of all, it takes part in the development of the first prototypes of sitted ski. It takes part thus in the first championships of France.

Become world champion in descent in 1990, it takes part in the paralympic Jeux of winter of 1992 which are held at his place with Albertville. In the alpine disciplines, it obtains a medal at the time of the plays of Nagano before passing in the discipline of the ski touring at the time of its fourth Olympiad, in 2002 in Salt Lake City. It obtains two new Olympic medals there.

At the time of its fifth Olympiad, it obtains a new medal with bronze in ski touring, short distance.
