Alain Eraly

Alain Eraly , born on April 2nd, 1954 with Ixelles, is professor in various faculties of the Universit3e libre de Bruxelles. It is a Sociologue and a Belgian economist , also specialist in the human Stock management, decision-making process in policy and author of fiction.

Summary biography

He obtains his license of sales engineer, with the Solvay Business School of the ULB, in 1976, before working for the shipping company international Ziegler during one year. He will be representing firm with Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia, during the last 6 months of his contract. He will turn over then in the university world where he will start his career. In 1985, after several stays of research abroad, it obtains the title of doctor in Social sciences with a thesis relating to; " the social die-réifié. Contribution to a theory of the structuring of the social reports/ratios ". Hardly two years later, in 1987, it obtains its title of doctor in Economic scenes applied when its thesis, carrying this time to the " technical Systems and structure of organization: the computerization of the banking agencies " , is received successfully.

This double training of sociologist and economist will lead it to ensure of the courses in various faculties of the ULB: Solvay School Business and the faculty of the economic scenes (course of Management, subjects related to GRH, etc), the faculty of social sciences and policies and the faculty of philosophy and letters (sociology of knowledge, etc). It is also, during its university career, professor invited in many other academic institutions, among which UCL, the Institut of political studies of Paris or of the more remote projects to the Vietnam, the Bénin and the Burkina Faso.

Later in its career, it will be also attracted by the political arena and will officiate during three years as principal private secretary of the minister-president of the Région of Brussels Herve Hasquin (itself professor of history with the ULB and liberal elected official in district of Brussels). Some time later, it will sign several books on the Belgian political system, of which one in collaboration with the senator MR. Alain Destexhe, and will be titular pulpit Francqui 2003-2004 on the topic " Actors and political institutions in contemporary Belgium ".

He exerted in addition many functions of administration within the ULB and exerts still at present as consultant in organization as well in the Belgian public services and Europeans as in the private sector. He is also director of the Center of sociology of the organizations (CSO) and of the Département of human resources and organization . These principal research topics have been thus the sociology of the organizations, the sociology of the communication and knowledge (its work falling under this field in the filiation of the school constructivist of Palo Alto and of the theories of Paul Watzlawick in particular), the human stock management and, for a few years already, the processes of political decision.

He was elected on May 15th, 2007 President of the Solvay Business School. He is moreover President of the Institute European of Public Management (INEMAP) in Charleroi.
