Alain Cousin

Alain Cousin , born the April 8th 1947 with Périers (Handle), is a man Politique French, member of the UMP. He is the brother of the deputy mayor of Vire, Jean-Yves Cousin.
He begins his political career at 23 years, within the municipal council of Cherbourg in 1971. He integrates then in 1977 that of Coutances, where he is insurance agent of 1974 with 2005, and becomes first assistant between 1986 and 1995. It also elected with the General advice of the English Channel in 1985, of which he becomes vice-president in 1992.
With the legislative of 1988, it takes again the district of Coutances to the Socialists. Between 1992 and 2002, it chairs Manche expansion, economic committee of expansion of the department, and benefits from its national mandate to develop the South-Handle. It thus supports the establishment of a factory of LVMH to Juilley.
He is also member of the parliamentary Parliament to the the Council of Europe since 2002.
He was re-elected with the legislative of 2007.
