Alain Berset

Alain Berset (born on April 9th, 1972 with Freiburg, originating in Misery-Courtion) is a Politician Suisse, member of the socialist party.

Biography

After a traditional maturity with the college Holy-Cross of (Freiburg) in (1991), he is laid off are Political sciences in 1996 and doctor be Economic scenes in 2005 with the Université of Neuchâtel. It specializes then in regional economic development and the migrations, fields in which it published scientific contributions between 1996 and 2006.

It sat since 2000 with the constituent Assembly Freibourgese and the parliamentary group of it PS until the end of the constitutional revision in 2004 chaired. He was also member of the General advice of Belfaux of 2001 to 2003.

Elected in 2003 and re-elected in 2007 with the the Swiss Council of the States, like representative of the Canton of Freiburg, he is member of the Office of the Council of the States since 2005 (2nd vice-president of the Conseil of the States in 2007), Alain Berset is in particular Member of the Commission of the economy and the royalties, of and the Commission Committee of supply of the legal affairs of the Conseil of the States. He sits moreover at the parliamentary Assemblée of the Francophonie since 2005.

He is also vice-president of the group PS of the federal Rooms since 2006 and chair Association of the tenants of French Switzerland.
