Alain Bensoussan

Alain Bensoussan (born the May 12th 1940) is professor emeritus with the university Paris IX - Dauphine and professor at the university from Texas in Dallas.
Alain Bensoussan was university lecturer with the Polytechnic school of 1970 to 1986 and professor with the National university of 1980 to 1985. He was president of INRIA of 1984 to 1996, President of the National center of space studies (CNES) of 1996 to 2003, President of the Council of the European space agency (ESA) of 1999 to 2002.
Alain Bensoussan is former student of the Polytechnic school, graduate of ENSAE and Doctor science mathematics.
Work
The work of Alain Bensoussan concerned the automatic and mathematics applied, but it was also interested in sciences and technologies the information like in management and the engineerings. He was one of the initiators of stochastic control for the distributed systems and in particular showed the principle of separation of the estimate and the control, which he then extended to the differential plays.
