Alain Baudin

Alain Baudin is a Politician French born with Longré (Charente) the July 3rd 1950.

Biography

After secondary studies with Niort (Two-Sevres), and higher learning of accountancy and business management, Alain Baudin becomes in 1974 to advise in formation within a Niort organization, the Association of Formation and Development of Further education (Asfodep). He supplements his course with a diploma in the field of the Sciences of education. In 1991, he becomes the director of Asfodep.

Member of the PS since 1975, it is elected city council man of Niort in 1989. Delegated to the Professional training and employment, it takes the deputy presidency of the Local mission of insertion of the Niort Country.

Re-elected in 1995, it becomes assistant with the mayor, charged with the political of the City, the inter-commune Coopération as well as socio-professional insertion.

Re-elected in 2001, second assistant of the Mayor, it is in charge of community life and the sports, and spokesperson of the municipal executive.

In December 2002, the resignation of Bernard Bellec leads it to aspire to its succession; he is elected mayor of Niort on January 8th, 2003.

Candidate with the nomination of the PS for the municipal elections of March 2008, it is drawn aside by the militants who prefer to him Genevieve Gaillard in a vote organized on September 29th, 2007. Nevertheless, proposing “its assessment” and “its knowledge of the Niort files”, it maintains its candidature for the town hall, thus breaking with its party.
