Alain Barrière

Alain Barrière is a singer French, composer-songwriter, born the November 18th 1935 with the Trinité-sur-Mer, of its true name Alain Bellec. It is born in a family from Breton wholesale fish merchants, obtains a diploma for the occupation of engineer of the Arts and trades (promotion Angers 1955, known as “An155”). However he prefers to turn to the song.

In 1961, it adopts its pseudonym and takes part in the contest of gold the Coq of the French song whose finale proceeds with the Olympia. He arrives finally with his song Cathy and is classified 11th on 12. But during this contest Bruno Coquatrix notices it and Alain Barrière signs a contract with house RCA.

He then saw few seals in the Parisian small rooms, before being made a name in 1963, with the success of the title She was so pretty , selected to represent France with the Concours Eurovision of the song where he finishes fifth.

Another great success is You from go away , interpreted in duet with Noëlle Cordier in 1974. The following year, it makes build and creates the “Stirwen” (“white star” into Breton) a theater-discotheque-restaurant located at Carnac, with a theater (amphitheater) in whom it gives concerts each summer.

In 1977, it leaves France for the the United States: the Stirwen company has difficulties and the singer of the contentions with the tax department. It returns four years later, but the two albums which it records do not have discounted success. A second exile leads it to the Canada. It returns definitively only at the beginning of the Années 1990, but without joining again truly with the song.

In 1998 leaves CD new songs Barrière 97 and a compilation of its best songs My life . It passes in the Pleyel Room of Paris in 1998.

In 2006, it publishes its autobiography, My life , with the Éditions of the Rock (with three new songs, of which: Yew - You will be a man, my son , text of Kipling - Chante my Brittany , homage to its native soil) and a new compilation compilation authenticates . It gives several concerts to Canada and is well accommodated there. Gold disc in Canada, it starts as from March 2007 a great round in France. New CD appears with the autumn 2007, and two official receptions are envisaged in Stirwen in September 2007. Alain Barrière continues then his round in France.
