Al Levitt

Alan Levitt known as Al Levitt (born with New York the November 11th 1932 and died with Paris the November 27th 1994), is a Batteur of Jazz étasunien.

He studies with Lennie Tristano and Irv Kluger before beginning in professional orchestras at the beginning from the Années 1950. Established in Paris in 1975, it continues its career in Europe with Lee Konitz, Warne Marsh and Chet Baker. It forms part in the Années 1980 of the " Ptits wolves of the jazz " and of the quintet of Guy Lafitte.

Extremely subtle beater, specialist in the brushes, it was particularly with its ease in the compositions and with interpreters developing the rhythmic and modal nuances.
