AlIreland Senior Hurling Championship
The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship is the principal competition of Hurling in Ireland. The competition is organized by GAA. The competition is also known under the name of Guinness Championships following the contract of sponsoring financing the test.
She is played during the summer and its final takes place traditionally second Sunday of September in the stage of Croke Park with Dublin. The price received for the victory is Liam McCarthy Cup.
The teams dominating this championship come historically from the provinces of the Leinster and the Munster. Cork GAA, Kilkenny GAA and Tipperary GAA is regarded as the superpuissances hurling.
Organization of the competition
In the middle of the Années 1990 the GAA developed a new system of qualification thanks to which certain teams would be seen proposed a new chance of qualification after a “premature” elimination. In 1997, the first transformation of the championship intervened with the appearance of which is commonly the “door of behind” (Back door in English) i.e. a fishing out. The teams beaten finally of the regional championships of the Munster and the Leinster saw the possibility of playing a match of fishing out in order to reach nevertheless the half finales of AlIreland. The finale of AlIreland was thus this year there the remake of the finale of the championship of Munster (Clare beating for the second Tipperary time).
The new system of fishing out was wide the following years. From 2005 two finalists of the regional championships of Leinster and Munster are of office qualified for the quarterfinal. Eight other teams divided into two hens of 4 teams clash to determine the four other quarter of finalists.
