Al-Mustansir (Abbasid)
Abû Ja`far "Al-Mustansir Bi-llah" Al-Mansûr Ben to az-Zâhir called Al-Mustansir in 1192 was born. It succeeded his father Az-Zâhir like thirty sixth Abbasid Caliph in 1226. He died on December 5th 1242. His/her son Al-Musta' sim succeeded to him.
Biography
During its reign Al-Mustansir sees the Ayyoubides disputing the Syria and Jerusalem between them and with the crusaders of the Sixth crusade. In 1227, Year-Nasir Dâ' ûd became king Ayyoubide of Damas.Sixth crusade

The same year 1227, Gregoire IX reached the pontifical load. With its request, the Germanic Roman Emperor Frederic II and its army embarked in direction of the Syria an epidemic obliged them to turn over to Italy. Frederic set out again towards Syria in 1228. It arrived at Acre in September. Al-Kamil, the sultan ayyoubide of Egypt which had overcome the Fifth crusade, had quickly divided its territory with one of his/her brothers in Syria, whereas its nephew Year-Nasir Dâ' ûd asserted the Palestine. February 18th 1229, Frederic signed a treaty of alliance with Al-Kamil, valid ten years, in order to be combined with him against Al-Nasir, in exchange of the promise to recover sovereignty on Jerusalem, Nazareth and Bethlehem. Frederic did not obtain the authorization to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem destroyed by Saladin in 1187, but it entered as a king the city It crowned itself king on March 18th.
Frederic was not able to unify the two parts of Acre, it did not have time to engage the war before having to be interested in the political matters of the Ayyoubide dynasty. As Frederic had to deal with other businesses in his country, it left Jerusalem in May
The treaty expired in 1239 and Jerusalem was taken again by the Mamelouks in 1244.
End of the reign
The last Al-Mustansir contribution it is its contribution to the construction of the Madrasa known as `' Al-Mustansiriyya'' on bank of the Tigre and become then part of the university of Baghdad.
