Al-Muntasir
Abû Ja `far “Al-Muntasir Bi-stable-lad” Muhammad Ben Ja `far called Al-Muntasir was born in 837 with Samarra from a named Greek slave Habchiyya. It took the succession, like Caliph Abbasside, of its father Ja `far Al-Mutawakkil, whom it made assassinate on December 11th 861. He died less than six months afterwards with Samarra where he is buried (May 29th 862).
Biography
Contrary to its predecessors, he was not opposed to the Shiites and he raised the prohibition of the pilgrimage on the tombs of Hassan and Husayn.The site of its tomb was known as of its death because of his/her mother whereas the Abbasids had always avoided revealing the site of their tomb of fear of their profanation.
Its succession had been done without clashes thanks to the support of the Turks, but those preferred to draw aside his/her brother of the succession, by fear to see them wanting to avenge their father, also élirent like successor another small son of Al-Driven `tasim, in fact Al-Musta' in.
