Al-Muizz Li-DIN Allah
Al-Muizz Li-DIN Allah was the fourth Caliph Fatimide born in 932, died in 975, successor of Ismaïl in 953. Abu Mansur Nizar Al-Aziz Billah succeeds to him in 975.
Biography
It completes the conquest of the the Maghreb vis-a-vis the Omeyyades of Cordoue by occupying the kingdoms idrisside and of Sidjilmâsâ. After having imposed its authority on the Tunisia, the Algeria, part of the Morocco and the Sicily, it launches in 969 the general Jawar to the conquest of the Egypt to the favor of an economic crisis. Its general, Jawar, with the head of more than 100.000 riders, carries an immense treasure which it must distribute to the Egyptians. He enters in Egypt without blows to férir and is victorious with the foot of the pyramids. In 973, Fatimides transfer their capital from Mahdia (Tunisia) to the Cairo (Al-Qahira, " Victorious the ").According to the Egyptian historian Maqrizi of the 14th century, the caliph Al-Driven' izz “erudite, splendid, generous, of beautiful manners, for its subjects and is just impassioned astronomy”.
