Al-Husayn passion

The Passion of Al-Husayn is the account of the martyrdom in 680 with Kerbala of Husayn Ben Ali, second wire of Ali ibn Abi Talib and of Fatima, girl of the Prophète Mahomet.
Husayn was decapitated on October 10th, 680 at the time of the Bataille of Kerbala, and its head was brought back to the Caliph Omeyyade Yazid I {{er}}.
Theology Chiite developed a martyrology starting from this event which is commemorated annually by a festival the 10 muharramà. This festival is the occasion of demonstrations of mortification, in particular the car Flagellation with the hands, sometimes with chains or razor blades.
This Passion is the subject also of stage performances similar to those of the Mystère S (or passions) of the Passion of the Christ, called Tazieh in Iran and played in places created especially for this purpose, the Tekiyeh S.
