Akram Khan
Akram Khan , born the July 29th 1974 with London, is a Danseur and British Chorégraphe originating in the Bangladesh.
Akram Khan goes up very young person on the scenes of theater, then made an appearance noticed with the role of Ekalavya in The Mahabharata of Peter Brook of 1987 to 1989. It turns then to a career of dancer, in particular while studying near Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker with the École P.A.R.T.S..
In 2000, it creates its own company of dance to London. These last years it became one of the real leaders of the British contemporary dance, in particular thanks to an excessively energetic and spectacular dance, amalgamating the tradition of the Indian Kathak, learned at Sri Pratap Pawar, and the Western contemporary dance. Its international recognition goes back to 2003-2004 with the acclamation of two major pieces, Kaash and especially My which made turn its company in the whole world.
