Akhaltsikhe

Akhaltsikhe is a town of Georgia, located on an affluent of the Kour.

This city was formerly the chief town of a Turkish Pachalik of the same name (pachalik of Akhaltsikh or Tcheldir) which included/understood part of the Arménie and of Turkish Georgia. It was yielded to the Russians in 1829.
