Akamassa

Akamassa is a group of Reggae originating in Neuchâtel (Suisse). Formed in the Nineties, the group takes its take-off after arrived of the singer/type-setter Junior Tshaka and his first concerts in 2002. French texts, conscious and committed, on a sober reggae but rate/rhythm, characterize their music.

If the music of Akamassa lines up without question in the category Reggae, the musicians who compose the group come all from different universes. The French group Sinsemilia is surely an important influence. The trombone and the texts have an important place in their music. Texts which are articulated on subjects like Africa, the war and violence, the respect of nature, friendship,…

Biography

Beginnings

It is during the years 90 qu ' a group of friends impassioned of reggae of the area neuchâteloise is found regularly to listen and play of the music together. Years by years, the formation changes, the arrivals and the departures follow one another, and the group tries its first scenes.

Towards the first album

With the beginning of the year 2000, the group is joined by various musicians of which Greg Frascotti (alias Junior Tshaka/author, type-setter and singer) and Léandre (trombone). When on the very percussion reggae of the group the dialog of the trombone of Léandre with the texts of Greg is posed, the magic reaches the public. And the still regional success of Akamassa is confirmed at the time of a concert in Festi' Neuch 2002, during which the group ensures the first part of Sinsemilia in front of many a public which in redemande. Akamassa connects the concerts and enters in studio. The first album leaves in 2003.

All is dependant

2006 are the year of the second opus group, heading " All… " is dependant;. Anthony B, from passage to Neuchâtel, comes to pose its voice on " The maladie" and Tshaka Junior sings " Not a exemple" with Toulouse the Mr Lézard, which since division regularly the scene with Akamassa. A friendship which is added to many others, of which in particular that of Mike (Sinsemilia).
