The Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin is a German unit of Baroque music

History

Founded in 1982 in German Democratic republic, this unit is made up instrumentalists resulting from the German orchestras. Wearied to play under the direction of a chief and on modern instruments, they found this Orchestre to interpret the music Des. Cependant, their repertory extends today to the traditional time even Romantique.

They play in general under the direction of the Marcus Creed and Rene Jacobs.

They record since 1994 of exclusiveness for Harmonia Mundi, after being made known with the labels Capriccio (publication in the West) and Eterna (publication in the East).

They record much the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and that of its sons, in particular Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. One owes them the redécouverte of number of their Symphonie S and Concerto S for keyboard.
