Akélé
The Akélés , also called Nkèlès or Bakélés , form an ethnicity originating in Mimongo, a mountainous region located at the South of the Gabon.
After a first migration in the Ngounié, with Fougamou where they occupy the territories of the people Éshira during nearly 10 years, a conflict bursts between the two groups (to invade in will éshira says Fougouminane , term from where its Fougamou origin finds, the name of the city which had been invaded by Akélés). Akélés leave Fougamou and leave to settle with Lambaréné, territory dominated by the Galwa S. At the conclusion of a new battle, Akélés disperse around Lambaréné while others continue to migrate towards Port-Gentil and Libreville while passing by the Ogooué. In Libreville, one primarily finds them in Nombakélé which means the “Mountain of akélés”.
