Airy de Verdun
Holy Airy (Latin, Agericus), 10th bishop of Verdun, born towards 521 with Harville, Meuse, France, died in 591, is celebrated on February 1st.
Ordered priest by Desired saint of Verdun (Desideratus), 9th bishop of Verdun (529 - 554), he became bishop with dead of this last.
Rented by Venance Fortunat (Dyed with carmine, III, XIII) and Gregoire de Tours (History of the Francs, VII, 44), Saint Airy was an influential personality at the court of Sigebert, king of Austrasie (561-575).
The Saint-Airy abbey of Verdun was set up on its tomb in 1037.
Hugues de Flavigny wrote a Vita Agerici which one finds in the Latin Patrologie of the abbot Migne, volume CLIV, coll 126-131.
