Airport of Zurich
The airport of Zurich , in the past called airport of Kloten which is with Kloten in the Canton of Zurich is the largest airport of Suisse.
It is used as hub with the company Swiss International Air Lines and since the repurchase of Swiss by the Lufthansa, is the 3rd hub of the latter. This airport, in which many investments were made before the bankruptcy of the company Swissair of which it was the main thing (then almost the single one) home port, is currently oversize (new terminal " E").
In 2006,19,2 million passengers forwarded by the airport.
In 2006, the London institute Skytrax classified the airport of Zurich 8th classification of the 10 best airports of the world.
The number of people working on the surface of the airport is about 15.000, the operator of the airport being Unique employing 1.200 people.
Access
The airport is located 13 km at the north of Zurich. The center of Zurich (Zurich HB) is easily accessible from the station of the airport, to count between 9 and 13 minutes according to whether you travel by a train or S-Bahn. The remainder of Switzerland connected well in the train, e.g. one needs 3 hours for Geneva, 2:30 for Lausanne, or approximately 1:20 for Bern or Basle.
