The air crash landing of Munich of 1958 is a Air crash which has occurred the February 6th 1958 (at 10 a.m. and 9 minutes). The plane transported the members of the team of Manchester United, which returned from a match of Coupe of Europe of the clubs champions played to Belgrade against the Red Star and made stopover with Munich to restock itself.
Context of the drama
This drama crossed short to the joy of the fans of Manchester United. The Red Devils however had been just qualified for the semi-final of the Cut of Europe of the clubs champions following the tie (3-3) carried out in Belgrade against Red Star.The team flew over all the competitions in which it was committed. She had in particular gained several Community Shield S and championships between 1955 and 1958. Directed by Matt Busby, it was made up of very young players. Busby had succeeded, after many efforts, to build a framework which could guarantee several years of success in Manchester United.

21 members of the team, of which 7 “ Busby Babes ” (nickname given to the very young talented players located by Matt Busby and integrated into the team) die in the crash landing, or their wounds in the days which follow the accident.One of the Busby Babes precisely, the young person Duncan Edwards, will not recover from the wounds and will return the heart the February 21st 1958, at only 21 years. This player was regarded a young wonder and as the future better player of the world, having to exceed Pelé, by Matt Busby, his trainer, but also by Bobby Charlton, which survived the accident.
Harry Gregg will save its fellow-members Bobby Charlton and Dennis Purple, but also Vera Lukić and its Venona daughter by making them leave the plane. Johnny Berry also survives, but stops its sporting career following its wounds.
The life continued for the survivors of the tragedy. Some started again to play, others shone, with the image of Bobby Charlton which led the England to the World cup 8 years later and became about it one of emblématiques the players of the history. Manchester United gained its first cut of Europe 10 years after the incident.
For the fiftieth anniversary of the drama (on February 6th, 2008), the club envisages to build a memorial in honor with the victims of the crash landing, in order to recall the drama to the young generations.
