Air base 276 Astier Saint

The Air base 276 Saint Astier is an old air base used by the Air force close to Saint-Astier, in the department of the the Dordogne (24).

It was created with the Release, to install there warehouse 607, depend on the service of the Material of the Air force.

This base did not comprise a track.

In 1966, the France leaving the integrated defense system of NATO, the Air force restores the material, primarily American, and is folded up on the basis of Romanet, close to Limoges.

Air base 276 is dissolved the March 31st 1969.

The Center of Improvement of the mobile Gendarmerie is established there as from this date.
