History
Air Transat was created by the former employees of Quebecair in December 1986. The company carried out its inaugural flight the November 14th 1987 between Montreal and Acapulco. Incident
Following an escape on one of the engines, the flight Air Deckchair 236, an Airbus A330 ensuring the connection between Toronto and Lisbon the August 24th 2001 had to be diverted urgently on the the Azores and being with fuel court, it carried out the 20 last minutes of flight and the landing in planed flight. This incident could easily have put a term at the operations of Air Deckchair if the plane had been damaged at sea.
