History
It is the December 9th 1954 which the history of air transport in Calédonie begins: Herbert Coursin, Henri Trip hammer and Louis Eschembrenner (delegated general director of the company from March to June 2006) found the TRANSPAC, ancestor of Air Calédonie, with an aim of assuring of the regular air links between Noumea, the Île of the Pines and the Îles Honesty. They are helped of two contractors: Tom Johnston and Walter Hickson.
The September 28th 1955, inaugural flight with place: Noumea - Pond - Lifou - Noumea. The flight is accomplished with a De Havilland DH89 " Fast Dragon " , conveyed the United Kingdom by an old driver of war.
In 1968, the TRANSPAC becomes Air Calédonie, and property of the Government of New Caledonia (50,28%), the Province of the Îles Honesty (43,31%), shareholders private (4,32%) and of Air France (2,09%).

Air Calédonie operates scheduled flights at the beginning of the airport Noumea Magenta bound for:
- the Island of the Pines
- Ouvéa (Islands Honesty) - Airport of Ouloup
- Lifou (Islands Honesty) - Airport of Wanaham
- Tiga (Islands Honesty)
- Pond (Islands Honesty)
- Koné (Northern Province)
- Touho (Northern Province)
- Koumac (Northern Province)
- Belep (Northern Province) - Airport of Waala (via Koumac)
Float
Aircal uses a fleet made up of:
- 2 ATR 72-500 which is the largest apparatuses of the fleet with 68 places each one,
- 1 ATR 42-500 proposing 48 seats, receipt the July 11th 2006 and brought into service the July 19th 2006,
- 1 ATR 42-320 offering 48 seats,
- 1 Dornier 228 of 19 seats used mainly for the service road of Tiga and Belep, because of the synopsis installation of the tracks on these destinations.
In June 2005, Air Calédonie ordered a ATR 42-500 and two ATR 72-500 which will be delivered in 2006 and 2007, to replace its ATR 42-320, becoming growing old and rather expensive to use. It will preserve all the same its Dornier, adapted well pout the service road of Tiga and Belep. ATR 42 (FOIPI) arrived on the Territory on July 11th 2006 and first ATR 72 (FOIPN) on November 24th 2006. Second (FOIPS) was received the October 26th 2007 and carried out its first commercial rotation the October 29th, finishing the renewal of the fleet.
