Air Algérie

Air Algérie (Code IATA: AH ; Code ICAO: DAH ) is the national Airline company Algérie. It was created in 1947 under the name of C.G.T (General Company of Transport). Air Algérie is a joint stock company S.P.A. whose capital is of 37.000.000.000, 00 DA.

It draws its experiment from its ancestor the CGT (General Company of Transport) which was created in 1947 with a network mainly directed towards France.

The network covered by Air Algérie is of 96.400 km, that is to say 2.4 times it tower of the Earth. History

  • 1947 : Creation of the C.G.T. (General Company of Transport) with a network mainly directed towards France
  • 1962 : Covering of the independence of Algeria

  • 1963 : The State takes 51% of the capital of Air Algérie.

  • 1970 : The State carries its participation in the capital of Air Algérie with 83%.

  • 1972 : December 15th of the year 1972, the State carries its participation in 100% by repurchasing the 17% still held by Air France.

  • 1973 : The State decides to integrate at Air Algérie the Company of Air Work (S.T.A.).

  • 1983 : The company is divided into two distinct entities, one for the internal lines (I.A.S.) and the other for the international lines.

  • 1984 : The two entities quoted above are again amalgamated in only one company to which returns the load of the management of the air terminals.

  • 1987 : Air Algérie is discharged from management air terminals.

  • 1997 : Air Algérie becomes a joint stock company with a capital of 2,5 billion DA.

  • 1998 : Liberalization of air transport.

  • 2000 : The capital of Air Algérie is carried to 6 billion dinars.

  • 2002 : The capital of Air Algérie is carried to 14 billion dinars.

  • 2003 : The most serious crash landing of the history of Air Algérie (Boeing 737) with Tamanrasset, making 102 died and 1 survivor

  • 2006 : Crash landing of an airfreighter of Air Algérie (Italy), making 3 dead (members of the crew).

  • 2007 : Entered next of Air Algérie Alliance Skyteam

  • 2007: Opening of the hot line Algiers-Montreal
  • 2007: The death of the president Mohamed Tayeb Benouis, with old 59 years.
