Ainmere mac Sétnai
Ainmere mac Sétnai laughed Ard Érenn of 566 with 569
Ainmere was the son of Sétnae mac Fergus Cennfhota mac Conall Gulban mac Niall Noigiallach. It was the first laughed Ard Érenn resulting from the Cenél Conaill and the true promoter of the power of this clan of the Uí Neill of North.
Irish Annals mention it as one of the winners of the Battle of Cúl Dreimne carried out by a coalition of Uí Neill of North against the laughed Ard Érenn Diarmait mac Cerbaill
It seems that he took part with Cenél Conaill in the combat of Moin Daire Lothair which allowed Uí Neill North to push back the king of Ulster Aed Brecc of Cruithni in the east of the Ban river where from now on its kingdom was confined.
The 3 years reign of Ainmere as laughed Ard Érenn is intercalated between the joint reigns of descendants of Muirchertach Mac Ercae: Domnall and Fergus mac Muirchertaich mac Ercae then Báetán mac Muirchertaich and its neveau Eochaid mac Domnaill mac Muirchertaich members of the other clan of the Uí Neill of North Cenél nÉogain.
Annals specify that Ainmere was killed by Fergus mac Neilléné and that its assassin perishes the following year under the blows of his son.
Of an unknown wife Ainmere mac Sétnai left a son Áed mac Ainmerech.
