Ahvaz
Ahvaz اهواز is a town of Iran located on the edges of the rivère Karun in the middle of the province of the Khuzestan.
Etymology
The word Ahvaz is the persanized shape of Arabic Ahwaz , plural of Huz , meaning Khuzi. The Dictionnaire Dehkhoda translates the expression " Suq-Al-Ahwaz" by " Market of Khuzis". Thus " Ahwaz" mean " Khuzis" , i.e. nonArab inhabitants of Khuzestan.
