Ahuntsic (??? - 1625) one was protected from Nicolas Viel. It gave its name to the district of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.

History

According to the legend, Ahuntsic was a Huron young person converted with the Christendom. This theory was cancelled in 1942 by the father Archange Godbout, who made the demonstration that Ahuntsic was the nickname (deformation “Auhaitsique”) that the Huron ones gave to a French, arrived in 1619 in News-France, which accompanied the Viel father in his missions in Huronie starting from 1623.

It found death in the part of the Rivière of the Meadows from now on named Sault-with-Récollet the with its mentor in 1625.
