Aho Houegbadja
Aho Houegbadja is traditionally the third of the twelve kings of the Dahomey. It succeeded his uncle, Dakodonou, and reigned of 1645 with 1685.
Houegbadja was the first of the dynasty to found the kingdom of Dahomey: it founded the city by building its palate (named Agbome which means in the middle of the ramparts ) close to Guedevi, with a few kilometers in the North-West of Bohicon. It promulga of the laws, named ministers and developed the administration, the religion and the political culture which characterized Dahomey.
His death, his/her son Houessou Akaba succeeded to him.
He had as a symbol a fish and a bow net: " The escaped fish of the bow net flees the nasse".
