Ahmad ibn Asad
Ahmad (death in 864/865) is leading a Samanide of Ferghana (819 -864/5) and of Samarkand (851/852 -864/5). He was the son of Asad.
In 819, Ahmad sees itself entrusting the direction of the town of Ferghana by the governor of the Khorassan of Caliph Al-Ma' mun, Ghassan ibn “Abbad, rewards for it for his support against the Rafi rebel” ibn Laith. Following the death of his/her brother Nuh, who controlled Samarkand, Ahmad and another of his/her brothers Yahya see themselves entrusting the direction of the city by Abdallah, the governor of Khorassan. The capacity of Yahya on the city was significantly reduced thereafter by Ahmad, and it is supposed that it controlled in manner symbolic system until his death into 855. The line of Yahya was then supplanted by that of Ahmad. At the time of its death in 864 or 865, it directed the major part of the Transoxiane, except Bukhara and the Khwarezm. The authority on Samarkand is inherited by one its sons Nasr I {{er}} while the Shash goes to its other wire, Ya' qub.
