Ahmad Kasravi

Ahmad Kasravi احمدکسروی is a linguist, a Historien, a Réformateur and a Philosophe Iran IEN born with Tabriz the September 29th 1890 and died in Teheran the March 11th 1946.

Biography

Born in Hokmabad (Hohmavar), in Tabriz, Kasravi was an Azeri Iranian .

After having begun studies of seminarist, it took share with the constitutional revolution. He was convinced by Western teaching by learning that the comet of 1910 had been identified like the Halley's Comet and then gave up his studies of seminarist to be registered with the school mémoriale of Tabriz. He became consequently, according to Roy Mottahedeh, a convinced anticlerical.

He familiarized himself with a broad spectrum of ideas and political movements with Tbilissi, and was then named by the Iranian government at various cultural stations.

Prolific author, Kasravi showed very critical as well with regard to the Shiite clergy as with the policy of the government. He had libertarian sights on the religion and showed a partisan convinced of the democracy. Its standpoint attracted many powerful enemies to him, such as the Ayatollah Khomeini.

Ahmad Kasravi, whom one described like more discussed of the modern Iranian thinkers, was an active defender of the thesis of the linguistic assimilation of the ethnic minorities in Iran, particularly of the Azeris.

March 11th, 1946, during its lawsuit for " calumny towards Islam" , Kasravi and one of its assistants were cut down in the courtroom by partisans of Navab Safavi, extremist religious Shiite founder of the terrorist organization Fadayan-e Eslam (those which are devoted for Islam). This group had been already devoted to an attempted murder on the person of Kasravi in April 1945 in Teheran.
