Ahintziaga

The Ahintziaga or Aintziaga , 905 m, is a frontier top of the Basque Country overhanging by the west Saint-Etienne-with-Baïgorry in the Low-Navarre province of (Yrénées-Atlantiques).

Etymology

It is trying to analyze this name by Aintzi-aga “place abundant in marshes”. But it cannot be that a popular etymology so much it is unsuited to a Sommet. One can bring it closer to the name of the Ahantziga.

Geography

Ahintziaga is located on the frontier and watershed separating the valleys from the Baztan Baïgorry.
