Ahantziga

The Ahantziga or Ahantsiga , 582 m, is a mount of the Basque Country French in the south-east of Gotein in the province of Soule (Yrénées-Atlantiques).

Etymology

The name d' Ahantziga is composed of a radical ahan , alternative souletine of arhan pupil”, widened by the collective - tze-aga > - tziga . One finds a similar construction in the close toponym Ahantxeta .

Geography

Ahantziga is located on the watershed between the basin of the Saison and that of the Aucet (affluent of the Gave d' Oloron). It is bordered of the collars d' Idaola in North, Garate in the east and Belhartz in the south between respectively the valleys of the Saison , the Aucet and the Basagaitz .

One reaches it since Gotein (road of the city of crayfish) then way. History
