Agrippine the Elder one
Agrippine Elder the , in Latin Agrippina maior , (towards 14 before J. - C. - 33 after J. - C.), was the girl of Julia (and thus the little girl of Auguste) and of Agrippa. She married Germanicus.
Life
Agrippine the Elder one accompanies her husband in Germanie lower, where it will be confined of Agrippine the Young person in 15 or 16. After the triumphal return to Rome in 17, Germanicus is sent in the East: Actium, Athens, Lesbos, Egypt, Syria.Germanicus dies (poisoned?) in October 19 with Antioche at the time of the voyage in the East. Agrippine accompanied by the future Caligula and its daughter junior, Julia Livilla (born during the voyage) accompanies back her ashes and traverses the way of Brindes to Rome. The funerary procession of Germanicus starts a strong movement of popular sympathy in its connection, and suspicion on the turbid part played by Tibère in the death of his/her adoptive son.
Agrippine and its children are then ballottés between the personal competitions and the businesses of state: Tibère interdict in Agrippine of remarier and the Prefect of the court, Séjan, after being itself removed from Drusus, the son of Tibère, succeeds in definitively scrambling Agrippine and the emperor. The disgrace and the execution of Séjan in 31 does not improve the fate of Agrippine.
