The agogô is a Musical instrument Idiophone of African origin . It consists of one or more Cloche S in Bois or Métal, connected between them.
Its name comes from akokô in language Nagô, which indicates the Horloge or the Temps: it is an instrument which is initially used to mark the tempo.
One finds it with the Brésil everywhere where the Esclave S African were brought. It is useful, mainly in its metal form, in the majority of the percussives musical forms, like the samba, the Maracatu or the Candomblé. In these two last forms, it can be presented in the form of a large bell fixed at the end of a handle of a score of centimetres: it is called then gonguê .
