Agnatha

Borgo Maggiore is one of the nine communes (or castelli ) of the République of San Marino. The locality, located at the foot of the northern slope of the mount Titano, counted 5916 inhabitants with the December 31st 2002, which makes the second city of the country of it.

The borough was called formerly Mercatale (“place of the market”), and to date remains one of the most important markets of San Marino. A Funiculaire allows the rise of the Titano mount, until the town of San Marino.
