Agga

Agga or Akka is according to the tradition Mésopotamie nne a king of the town of Kish.

In the royal List sumérienne, it is presented like the son and successor of Enmebaragesi. It is credited with a 625 years reign, which concluded the First dynasty from Kish, which is made supplant by that of Eanna/Uruk.

Agga is also the protagonist of an account sumérien, called " Gilgamesh and Agga " by the sumerologists. He tells the attempt at Agga to subject the town of Uruk, directed by his king Gilgamesh. This last chooses to resist, and in spite of the power of the army of Kish, it succeeds in making him turn back only by showing top of its walls to intimidate it.

It thus seems that the tradition had the memory of conflicts between Kish and Uruk, to which Agga would have taken share. The fact that the events reported in these two documents, if they are to be regarded as realities, proceeded at one very moved back time prevents us more fault of additional sources.
