African democratic Christian party
The Parti Christian democrat African ( African Christian Democratic Party - ACDP) is a Political party of South Africa founded in 1993. It is directed by the Reverend Kenneth Meshoe and in 2004 obtained seven elected officials with the Parlement of South Africa.
This party of center-right claims values Christian and morals. Into its program, it rejects the right to the Avortement, the Homosexual marriage, the Homosexualité, the Pornographie, the publicity of the port of the Préservatif like means of fighting against the AIDS and preaches the sexual abstinence and fidelity, for example the Stratégie ABC.
This party is close to the ChristenUnie Dutch E and to the Christian Heritage of New Zealand ( Christian Heritage New Zealand ).
History
The ACDP was founded in December 1993, hundred days before the first multiracial elections of the April 27th 1994 on a program based on the biblical principles of reconciliation, justice, compassion, Tolérance, peace, promotion of the individual, the family values and those of the community.
The party obtained two national headquarters with the first multiracial elections of April 27th, 1994 with 0,5% of the votes like three provincial seats. It is then smallest of the seven national parties represented at the Parliament of South Africa. It was the only party to be voted against the adoption of the Constitution of 1996.
With the general elections of 1999, the ACDP tripled its national representation by carrying six seats (1,40% of the voices), becoming the fifth national party of the country, also represented in four provincial Parliaments.
To the local elections of 2000, the ACDP passed from 7 to 70 city council men.
In 2004, the party obtains 1,60% of the voices and seven seats.
