Afrasiab

Afrasiab or Afrāsiab ( Uzbek Afrosiyob in ), close to Samarkand, Ouzbékistan, is a historical city which bears the name of its legendary founder.

The Afrasiab character, is so-called the king of all the Touran S mentioned in the Persan poem epic of Ferdowsi, Shahnamah ( Livre of the Kings ), in which the King-hero fights against a legendary Shah of Iran, Kai Khosro. Al-Biruni says to us that in the calendar Khwarezmien with the arrival of Sijavus around 1300 av. J. - C starts., and it is thought that both could be the same person.

According to Ferdowsi, Afrasiab is the ancestor of the Hephtalites, and the name would have appeared in a dynasty Ouïghour E and would also have been asserted as an ancestor by the Kara-Khanides.

Traditionally founded during the VIII {{E}} - seventh century BC, the quoted of Afrasiab has sites confirmed archaeologically like going back to 500 av. J. - C. until the 13th century. The archeology of this site is preserved in the Musée Afrasiab on the site. The museum contains the oldest pawns of known failures. The murals with Afrasiab are famous. Afrasiab is on the Silk route, at the borders of Persia Achéménide.
