Afonso Costa

Afonso Costa (March 6th 1871, Seia - May 11th 1937, Paris) was a lawyer, a university professor Portuguese. Costa was republican Anticlérical and Franc-maçon.

Principal leader of the Portuguese Republican party, it was one of the principal craftsmen of the establishment of the republic in Portugal and one of the dominant figures of the first Republic. He was Prime Minister with three recoveries.
