Affluent

One calls affluent a River which will be thrown in a river to the more important Débit, on the level of a not of junction. A synonym is tributary .
According to the side where the affluent compared to the principal river is, one can specify " bank droite" affluent; or " bank gauche" affluent; ; the banks left and right-hand side are given compared to the direction of the descent of the river, that is to say upstream (side highest) towards the downstream (side low).
