Geography
The aerodrome of Thise (of the the Community of agglomeration of Large Besancon) is located at 5 km in the North-East of Besancon in the plain of Thise on vast extended from Herbe planes (easily flooded by the Crue S of the Doubs) in the Doubs in Franche-Comté on RN83 of Besancon Montbeliard Belfort Mulhouse.

History
In 1911, whereas Louis Blériot achieved the exploit to cross the Manche for the first time the July 25th 1909 in 37 minutes on board sound Blériot XI, a first air Meeting is organized in the suburbs of Besancon on the polygon of Palente (then army ground) and collects “an enormous popular success”.In 1932 the Ministère of the Air grants a subsidy to the department of the Doubs to buy grounds in the plain of Thise to 5 km in the North-East of Besancon and to found in 1934 this first Aérodrome and departmental Aéro-club of Doubs.
In 1938 the Air force declares the aerodrome of Besancon-Thise alternate aerodrome for military air bases of Dole, BA102 of Dijon and BA116 of Luxeuil and makes build the two current hangars. In 1944 the aerodrome is used single once during the Second world war for the medical evacuation of wounded combat of the Poche of Colmar and Bataille of the Vosges. The track is lengthened at its two ends by American who stations there of the Douglas C-47, of the Piper Cub and a Bombardier Boeing B-17. The ground and the hangars are grapeshots by a patrol of two Focke-Wulf 189 of recognition whose impacts of balls of machine-guns of small gauge are still visible in the glazings and sheets of the roof of the hangars.
The two hangars of 1938 are today classified with the inventory of the historic buildings.
