Aero L-60 Brigadyr
The Aero L-60 Brigadyr is a Czech monoplane utility single-engined aircraft.
Development
After the failure of the Aero Ae 50 Aero developed on request of the MNO a machine appreciably more conventional, largely inspired of the Fieseler Fi 156. It was a four-seater monoplane with braced high wing and fixed traditional train of entirely metal construction, whose prototype XL-60/01 began its tests the December 24th, 1953 been driven by an engine Argus As 10C from 240 ch. Le March 22nd, 1955 took the air a second prototype, equipped this time with a Praga Doris which will be adopted in series. It was followed on June 28th, 1955 of the XL-60/03, prototype of the version L-60A , on which the vertical stabilizer and the back canopy of the cockpit were modified. The production was launched in 1956 and 273 specimens were built until 1960.
Versions
- L-60A : Plane of connection and observation of the battle field produced in series since 1956. Being able to receive a machine-gun of 7,92 mm dorsal and 2 bombs light under aerofoil, this model replaced from 1958 the Mraz K-65 of the Czech army.
- L-60B : agricultural Version of work with a reserve of 350 liters insecticide or fertilizer and a tube of pulverization assembled under the fuselage. The prototype was the XL-60/02, modified since 1955.
- L-60C: Four-seater of sport for the flying-clubs.
- L-60D : Tug boat of sailplanes.
- L-60E : medical Version.
- L-60F : Military apparatus of school.
- L-60S : In the middle of the many years 1970 L-60 Brigadyr was immobilized for problems of replacements of engine. The solution was of the remotoriser with a Ivchenko AI 14R out of star produces by PZL.
- L-160 : experimental Modification in 1957 of a standard appliance with entirely metal stabilizer slightly increases and only one chechmate of wind-bracing of the wing.
Users
- German Democratic republic: From 1958 Aero will deliver 64 L-60B to Deutsche Luft Hansa, like 20 L-60A with NVA in 1960 like plane of drive and connection. In 1963 DLH Interflug was renamed, recovering 49 Brigadyr , of which military apparatuses. The last will be reformed only in December 1970. The paramilitary organization Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik (GST) also used 14 L-60 between 1960 in 1974.
- Argentine: 1 L-60A sold and tested under designation El Langostero . It is probable that the motorization was an obstacle with an order.
- Bulgaria: 7 apparatuses delivered in 1963 and used by the Bulgarian air force until 1983.
- Popular republic of China: At least two delivered specimens.
- Cuba: 20 apparatuses delivered in 1961 by the Ministry for Czech Defense.
- Egypt: 10 specimens delivered in 1958 to the Egyptian air force.
- Hungary: 2 apparatuses delivered in 1960.
- Poland: 3 sold L-60E .
- Romania: 3 L-60A delivered in 1957, of which one was destroyed on accident in 1959.
- Sri Lanka: Some specimens sold with the military aviation.
- Swiss: 3 civil machines.
- Syria: 1 specimen * Czechoslovakia: 86 apparatuses used between 1955 and 1969 for the agricultural work by SCUMS and 56 delivered to the Ministry for Defense. The latter were used under designation K-60 of apparatuses of observation and connection, the last being withdrawn from the service in 1968. A certain number of L-60S always steal in the flying-clubs in 2007.
- Soviet Union: 2 specimens, probably intended for ends of evaluation.
- Yugoslavia: Some specimens were used by the armed forces.
