Aero A.18

The Aero A.18 is a single-seat biplane hunter drawn by Antonin Vlasák and Antonin Husnik whose prototype stole in March 1923 to Czechoslovakia.

Aero A.18

During 1923 Aero made steal three prototypes of hunters, the Aero A.18 , A.19 and A.20. It is finally the A.18 , derived from the Ae 02 and Ae 04, but which benefitted from the experience gained with the A.11, which was retained by the Czech military aviation. 20 specimens were ordered, this apparatus remaining in service until the occupation of the Czechoslovakia by the Germany in 1939. It should be noted that the prototype was exposed into 1923 to the aeronautical living rooms of Gothenburg, in Sweden, and Paris.

Aero A-18B

Single-seater of race intended to take part in the first speed race organized by Aéro Club of Czechoslovakia in 1923, test which it gains.

Aero A-18C

Single-seater of race intended to take part in the second speed race organized by Aéro Club of Czechoslovakia in 1924, test which it gains, controlled by J. Novák, with the average of 263,427 km/h. This apparatus is preserved today at the Czech aeronautical Museum of Prague - Kbely, at the side of a counterpart of hunter A.18 .
